The 10th APRU Sustainable Cities and Landscapes Conference takes place 21—23 May 2027 in Singapore, hosted by the Department of Architecture at the National University of Singapore. Sessions are held at SDE3, 4 Architecture Drive, Singapore 117566, on the NUS Kent Ridge campus.
Scholars, educators, practitioners, students, and community partners working on sustainable cities and landscapes across the Pacific Rim. The conference is open beyond APRU member universities — the working group framework is built around cross-institutional and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
The Sustainable Cities and Landscapes (SCL) programme of the Association of Pacific Rim Universities unites researchers and policymakers across 22 member universities, convening an annual conference and a set of ongoing thematic working groups. The 2027 edition in Singapore marks the network's 10th anniversary.
The call for abstracts opens on 30 September 2026 and closes on 15 November 2026 (UTC+8). Submissions are made through the NUS UVENTs event page, linked from the call for abstracts. Abstract titles run to a maximum of 20 words and the body to a maximum of 300 words, with up to five keywords, in English. Authors are notified on 15 January 2027.
Yes. A student network session runs alongside the conference; details will be published here once they are confirmed. Student registration rates will be published alongside general rates when registration opens.
Working groups are ongoing thematic groups that meet at each annual conference to build joint agendas and shared outputs rather than deliver static paper presentations, with each group typically leaving the conference with a planned output. Twelve groups are confirmed for 2027. If your research aligns with one of them you are welcome to contact its leaders directly — an accepted abstract does not by itself give access to working group meetings, which are coordinated separately.
Registration opens on 15 January 2027, and early-bird registration closes on 28 February 2027. Fees have not been set; general and student rates will both be published here once they are confirmed.
Invitation letters for visa applications are provided once registration fees have been paid or a waiver granted. NUS Department of Architecture does not submit visa applications on your behalf — applications go to your nearest Singapore Overseas Mission or an authorised visa agent. See the Visitors page for the full entry requirements.
Key dates for the call for abstracts, registration, and the conference itself are published on this site and updated as each is confirmed. The detailed programme is announced in March 2027. For anything not answered here, write to the committee inbox.
